Well, im just so proud that Malaysia finally has their own professional team and i really would love to see them when i get back to Malaysia and because of that i hope people will continue to support them so in future they will have bigger more happening sponsors so ALL the fans could still see them. Who knows you might even see the second professional team brushing out soon. Well thinking about the future makes me happy. But without your support there is no future. What makes me even happier is that my friends are in it. Even fans get really crazy seeing their idols what more than friends. I know them personally and they all deserved to be the center stage. Oh yes not forgetting air asia, the low budget airlines makes it possible bridging the distances for everyone! Oh yes, my dream is to work in the airline dont care if im the market analysis or the floor cleaner (joking! i'll be more than that) even so i might not end up there but i too, hope to see Air Asia branching out and be another successful budget airlines like the virgin airlines etc.. AND most of ALL, I hope that one day i could FLY back home FROM KOREA by Air Asia.
Thank you for reading. I dont even know what im writing. (:

According to the World Wide Web Statistics, Basketball is the second largest sport in the world with 450million registered (or more) players around the world, after of course the infamous Soccer game.
Brother and I used to discuss about our dreams to expand the love of our game to the region on first how to make it popular in Malaysia. Then AND1 Malaysia began their promoting the sports with 3 on 3 games around Malaysia as well as AND1 with digi promotional tour. I must say they did quite well with promoting the sports as well as expanding the brand. I must say this, i witness the progress and i am acquaintance with the proud owner.
And then an ex-coach, a friend of mine start their own enterprise with the given name X-baller with Malaysia very own basketball brand expanding their buisness slowly marching into the Asia market like China, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, and soon New Zealand and hopefully Korea. They too, with zealous effort fought hard to be reckoned. They too, has successfully organized several tournaments to the objective to promote the brand and basketball itself. The birth of X-baller only less than 2 years they have done their job pretty well. X-baller is currently the main sponsor of the Malaysian Basketball Team. For more information, please visit XBaller.
Of course, brother and I still keep our dream burning. Me too, have my own personal imagination and plans how to promote for the love of the game. With God's will, we will fulfill it one day.
Anyway, back to ABL. The birth of ASEAN Basketball League, AND 1 freestyle promotional tour as well as the birth of Malaysia's only Basketball brand, Xballer has already done their first step into fulfilling our dreams. We all have one thing in common, WE LOVE BASKETBALL. We dont do it blindly, we do it with business purposes as well. When money is involved, it also means it provide an alternative route to further expand it and make it bigger, better and more impact.
"The ASEAN Basketball League looks to create a new
sports property in South East Asia that will merge high performance
sports action with family entertainment to engage audiences from
teenagers to young families.Made
up of the best professional teams in South East Asia, all teams will be
privately owned by business leaders or investors and will be
responsible for their own P & L. All teams must also maintain a
strong youth development program to ensure the long term growth of the
sport in the ASEAN region."
And if you didnt know, Dato Sri Tony Fernandes who is also Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Asia (Malaysia's Low Budget Airline) is the President of ASEAN Basketball League and is part of the brainchild behind the development of ABL.Can you believe it? He is like.. my idol! I have always been dreaming to work under his corporation whether to be a Pilot or join the Cabin Crew but since none of the mentioned 2 above is possible I took the major in what im studying at right now hoping to work very closely under his management team whether under the finance department or the management department itself!! Working towards it (: *fighting* Anyway, i am more and more amazed my his achievement to be a billionaire at such young age, I salute you! I pray to emulate your steps and may God and my family friends bless me. Korea pplease bless me too.
And can you believe, ABL is also broadcast live in ESPN. It also means, ABL is an open door to the world stage to recognize South EAST ASIA and my beloved country Malaysia as well as my beloved Air Asia. (:
The ASEAN Basketball
League will initially be made up of 6 teams from Indonesia, Malaysia,
Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei. In coming years, Indonesia
and Philippines will be granted two spots each because of the large
population and reach of the game in these countries.
Each team is allowed 5 import players – 2 international and 3 ASEAN
with a total squad of 12 players and a travelling squad of 10 players.
Teams will compete in a home and away league format culminating in
playoffs for the top 4 teams. The tentative league period is October to
February every year.
AS closure, let me introduce you the First Malaysia Professional Basketball Club in the ASEAN League owned by private corporation, Westport & Partners with their team name KL DRAGONS. Sounds good aint it? I feel even more proud with the DRAGON behind because i belong to the Dragon according to Chinese Lunar Calender.
"KL Dragons is the brainchild of three of Malaysia’s very own young
successful entrepreneurs: Mr. Ruben Emir Gnanalingam, Dato’ Wira Dani
Daim and Dato’ Robin Tan Yeong Ching, who all share a passion for
sports and the expansion of basketball in Malaysia. Dato' Robin Tan, on
forming KL Dragons said, “Basketball has and continues to be a passion
of mine. I have been playing the game since my teenage years and am
still actively playing whenever I get the time. When this opportunity
to participate in the ABL and the Dragons was presented to me I jumped
at the chance as I felt that such an endeavor would expose the sport
that I love to many more people in the country and the region.
Hopefully the ABL will see this sport gaining the exposure it deserves."

Mei Yan jie. Pioneer of Hoops Station together with Poh Chai. I really look up to her. At 35, married with a child and still manage to keep up with her fitness. Her physical fitness is even 10 times better than mine. You'll be amazed even more when you see her live.
my pride. 学妹 Rene. At 15 selected to national junior team at the very same year despite with tight schedule training in MaBa still manage to score straight A for PMR. Seeing her results her parents change her mind and decided to allow her to move to MABA and receive full training as well as furthering her studies in SMK Confusius (Beside Maba). I really hope to see her in action one day in the national team. Especially she was someone i bring up. (:
